NORA'S REVIEW:
They say that laughter is the Best Medicine for the soul. You can't laugh too much is what I say! Many people I run into are so serious lately. Even the kids cartoons on T.V. are serious. I have found an Escape! Get a copy of this book; chill out, sit down; put your feet up and get ready for a good laugh. Charles Marshall had me laughing about things I hadn't thought were funny before.
Some of the topics he tosses out and discusses are "Defining the Rules of Manhood:, "Mom's Cold Remedies", "A New Year's Health Plan", "Remodeling My House", and "The Black Hole" just to mention a few. I found that Charles Marshall's view of life just cracked me up.
I started reading the book and laughing out loud. I was totally into the topic he was discussing for each chapter and found my spiritual eyes open as scripture came alive. I was also smiling inside and out as I kept reading the contents of this book. Charles is able to really drive the point home. He made me think about myself and scripture. I had to stop and share these stories with my husband they were just too good. We were both able to share a good laugh; spiritual truth and just some pretty funny stuff.
I love when Charles Martin says, "The good news is that the God I've experienced - The God of the Bible - is alive and relevant in today's world!" You will find Charles' humor alive and relevant in your life as you read this really funny and touching book.
